The Sun StorEdge T3 Array is a high performance, modular, scalable hardware RAID storage device containing nine disk drives and an intelligent controller. It is sold by Sun in two basic configurations: a single controller unit “workgroup” modelthe T3WG, and a dual controller unit “enterprise” modelthe T3ES (see FIGURE 2). The dual controller T3ES is fundamentally two T3WGs cabled together to act as one storage device. The T3ES is also referred to as a “partner group,” because it is two controller units acting as one.
